Telles sont justement les qualités du piano kaléidoscopique de Nicholas Angelich, élu à deux reprises Soliste instrumental des Victoires de la musique classique, aussi éloquent dans le répertoire classique et romantique que dans celui du XXe siècle et de la création. Le pianiste convie aussi pour cette soirée de printemps l’un de ses compositeurs de prédilection, Brahms – qu’il a enregistré seul, en concerto ou en formation de chambre ; dans une oeuvre où s’équilibrent à merveille inspiration débridée et rigueur de l’architecture.
