Oratorio-fleuve immortalisé par son « Alléluia », compilation de textes bibliques surclassant celle des Passions de Bach, ce triptyque aux dimensions de cathédrale enchante par la sensualité de sa vocalité, le luxe de ses timbres et la gamme étendue de son expression. Trois semaines ont suffi à Haendel pour faire de la vie du Christ une fresque musicale résolument addictive, livrée aujourd’hui à l’interprétation de l’un des ensembles français de référence dans l’exploration des répertoires baroques. Les Talens Lyriques, qui fréquentent assidûment depuis trente ans les stars des années (16)80 que sont Bach, Haendel et Rameau, lui prêtent voix et orchestre, rehaussés de solistes de haute voltige.
